[RF] Newsletter 060703
Greetings All,
Yes, it is in fact time for another fleet newsletter. I'm glad you all could make it today. Perhaps you'd like to have a seat, maybe a cup of tea? :) No? Alright, well let's move on and get this show on the road, then.
I suppose the most significant news of the month is that the Rebel Squadrons is restructuring its Academy system. The Academy will no longer exist as a fleet, and the functions of the various undergraduate programs are in the process of being transferred to the control of their respective fleets. Sometime during this month you all should see the creation of a Redemption Undergrad wing, which will contain training units for those divisions which request them. The RF Command Staff and I are working to get our proposal ready for the Internet Office to implement as I write this email.
In other RF news, the STC is moving ahead with its Galactic Battlegrounds ITOD, currently on mission 3. Play some GB, beat the ITOD mission, and help your squad to win this month!
Vanguard Wing is still running interactive stories to prepare for the release of Star Wars Galaxies. The stories are really taking off, especially those for Naboo and Corellia. Check it all out at the SWG message boards!
Retribution Wing is staying active with individual squadron TODs. In addition, BGN Licah Fox, the R2W CO, has promised that a new wing-wide tour will be released very soon.
Ghost Squadron's CO, CPT Joel Lance, is on LOA, but Ghost is continuing strong with interactive stories in his absence. Great work, Ghosties!
The webpage (http://www.rebelsquadrons.org/rf) is up-to-date with current division numbers. The RF Order of Battle has also been updated to reflect the addition of R2W ships.
And now, to the awards! I am happy to report that I have several promotions to hand out today.
Tay "Shadow" Lothain: Although only serving as Acting CO of SWAT, you have done an excellent job of attempting to stimulate activity. Your actions clearly show that you are worthy of a higher rank. It is my pleasure to promote you to the rank of Captain. Congrats, Tay!
Torin "Codyman" Qel-Droma: You have been leading Vanguard Wing, our SWG wing, for many months now, and have shown both initiative and innovation in your leadership. Thanks to you, our SWG PA now has a name and several interactive storylines that are getting more active daily. In recognition of your achievements in preparing the RS for this very important game, it is my pleasure to grant you the rank of Major General. Congrats, Cody!
Harley "Jester" Quinn: As both STC CO and a constant confidant and helper in running this fleet, you have never ceased to impress me. It is clear that you love the STC and this fleet and that you are willing to sacrifice quite a bit of time to make both an all-around better place. You must also have impressed the Fleet Commander, because this promotion comes with his blessing as well for your hard work in the Operations Office. It is my pleasure to elevate you to the rank of full General. Congrats, Jester!
Classifieds: I'm sure MAJ Dhruv Kalra of RSM would still like artistically inclined members to contact him. Otherwise, all RF command positions seem to be filled. Hooray!
There is one last bit of news that I need to communicate to you all. I will be taking a LOA between the dates of June 12th and June 20th. During this time, I will effectively be out of all contact. The timeframe is also bad for my XO, so General Harley "Jester" Quinn will be assuming temporary command of Redemption Fleet in my absence. If you have any questions about this, please contact me before I leave.
